Doctors agree that UV rays are the number one heath concern when talking about your eyes.
UV
rays are concerning because they can cause cataracts. They can also cause macular degeneration,
which is actually the number one cause of vision loss in adults that
are over 60. Along with cataracts and macular degeneration, UV
radiation can also cause damage to the surface of the eyes.
To protect yourself from these harmful rays, sunglasses with 100% UVA and UVB protection are recommended.
Polarised Sunglasses are the best protection. You not only cut down on sunlight, you cut down on
glare. So whether you're looking into the water or you're looking
at some reflection off the car in front of you or a wet road surface, Polarised Sunglasses are better.
For those people who wear eye glasses, there is still plenty of options available to protect your eyes. There are great prescription sunglasses. There is also transition lenses and with new technology these are a great option.
While wearing your shades, don't forget about the younger members of your family.
Children's
eyes are particularly susceptible to damage from UV radiation because
their lens inside of the eye is not mature enough to protect the inner
parts of the eye from damage. So, the children are
actually exposed to at least six times more UV radiation than an adult.
Doctors say, whether they're sporty, trendy, large or tiny it's important to wear your sunglasses whenever you're outside.

Solar Eclipse
Sunglasses not good enough for Friday's eclipse, warn ophthalmologists
It is extremely dangerous to look at the sun without eye protection. It can scar the retina. Looking at a solar eclipse is like having a laser shined directly into your eye.
Motorists have been urged not to take their eyes off the road on Friday morning, amid fears the first ever “rush hour eclipse” could cause accidents across the country. With the eclipse due to take place Friday morning during rush hour, please do not take your eyes off the road.
Also, please remember not to look directly at the eclipse (not even for a single second), even with sunglasses on, it can still seriously harm your eyes.
Many thanks.

We now have the new range of Sunglasses in and on the website. Why not take a look and see what you fancy for 2015.
The Ray-Ban continues to be strong in the Wayfarers, Aviators and Clubmasters. You will see they have introduced some new colourways as well as the traditional best sellers. There are also other styles which may be to your liking.
You will also notice we have introduced a page for Ray-Ban spares and repairs. If you have a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses which have been damaged in some way, we can always get replacement sides and lenses for you, just get in touch and we will talk you through it.
We are also featuring the new Ted Baker range of which the majority of sunglasses can take a prescription. Again, there are some great new styles for 2015, ensuring you have the latest look.
There are other brands such as Oakley, Police, Prada, Persol and Hugo Boss which continue to be strong for 2015.
