Damaged Ray-Ban Sunglasses?
We are now able to order spares from Ray-Ban. So lets say you have a nasty scratch on your lenses, rather than having to buy new Ray-Bans, we can just order a replacement pair of lenses. There are various parts we are able to replace, such as lenses, sides, cases, etc. Just visit the website or contact us on info@simplysuns.co.uk or 01562 512675 and we can organise delivery for the part you require.

Autumn Sunshine
The news on the grapevine is, that this lovely autumn sunshine, is set to last until November. What a great result for all us Sun worshippers. Don't get me wrong, I don't like to sit out and cook in the sun, but it is fabulous to be out and about when the weather is like this, just soaking up that warmth.
I don't need to remind you by now, that you must remember to protect your eyes. The rays from the sun can still be very damaging and with the sun sitting quite low at this time of year it can be blinding. So please ensure you have a good pair of sunglasses at hand. It's also good for the image, a pair of Sunglasses is one of the best accessories you can have.
I think over the next few weeks, I may look at doing a sale on some of our Sunglasses, so keep a look out for that. I will of course let you know.
In the meantime enjoy this lovely autumn weather and I will be back with you really soon. x

Summer Days
I was hoping by now we would be basking in lovely warm summer days, how wrong I was.
Instead the last few days of May seem destined to be slightly warm and very wet in good old Blighty!
With this being the case, I decided to take the day off selling Sunglasses and take my teenage son to
Hay Festival. I strongly recommend a visit, if you have not been before.
We went to a lecture on 'Social Networking'. This was aimed at teenage students and was very interesting and informative. After a good look around the festival we headed off to Knighton to the Space Guard Centre, which is a working observatory and main source of information about near Earth objects in the U.K. This was another fascinating venue to visit. We attended a fabulous guided tour learning about Aestroids and Comets in some depth. Again a great activity for young people and adults alike.
Tomorrow, I would have enjoyed a return visit to Hay Festival, to hear one of my sons favourite authors talking about her latest book. However, I must get back to my Sunglasses. Whilst on this subject and it being half term, can I please urge parents to ensure their children get into the habit of wearing sunglasses in bright light. It is so important to protect our eyes from the damaging UV rays.
With summer coming, I have seen quite a number of medical reports lately on this subject. Medics and doctors comment, as a nation, we are getting a lot better at protecting our skin from the sun, but need further educating in protecting our eyes sufficiently.
At SimplySuns we stock a good range of Junior Ray-Bans for the younger customers and up to date fashion brands for teenagers and adults.
The above photo is from our Junior Ray-Ban collection. It is based on one of the adults best sellers, the Clubmaster.

Good Morning
I have just read an interesting letter sent into the Sydney Morning Herald about Children and Sunglasses. It is so true what they say, which is, we do not look after our Children's eyes enough. Please protect your kids vision now and for the future. I have included the article below. Many thanks for taking the time to read it.
Why is it that adults wear sunglasses on a bright and sunny day? Is it because the glare makes it difficult to see and can cause a headache, or fear of looking at the sun which can cause blindness? Is it because of concerns about the problems sunlight causes over time, problems such as cataracts and growths over the surface of the eye?
It is amazing then that on any reasonably sunny day, you can see children without sunglasses accompanied by adults with sunglasses, even on the bright harbour and the even brighter beach. A hat is not good enough to protect the sensitive developing eyes of a child.
Even adults do not just wear a hat. There should not to be a need for a publicly funded health promotion campaign to get parents to provide sunglasses for their children. Neither do parents need to seek evidence of the benefits of sunglasses to protect the eyes of children from damage. Sunscreen and hats have become commonplace. Wearing sunglasses should be commonsense.

Turning a blind eye on sunglasses for children
Shady issue: Parents should protect their children's eyes from the sun.

Hi all
I haven't Blogged for a while now, so thought I would just update you all on what has been going on @SimplySuns.
With the beautiful summer we had last year, Sunglasses were much in demand. We are hoping it will be another sunny year in 2014, with everyone out and about looking cool in their shades.
I have now seen the Rep for Ray-Ban and Ted Baker and should be getting my new stock within the next couple of weeks. As soon as I have photographed everything, I will get it all uploaded on the website, so you can start looking at the styles you may want to go for this year. I should also be getting the new Prada in as well.
I always find this time of year very exciting. All the new styles and colours start to come in and we begin to get a taste of long Summer days.
In the meantime, I have reduced quite a few current Sunglasses, so do have a good look on the website for various reductions. There are some really good deals to be had. I always have 3 or 4 pairs of different sunglasses on the go, so this is a really good way of getting 1 or 2 cheaper. Also, even though it is still winter I find I need Sunglasses quite a lot at the moment as the Sun can be very low, especially when driving.
I feel this is a really good time to mention Polarised Sunglasses.
These are dedicated sunspec lenses which cut out the glare from reflected light. They are especially good for driving as black tarmac, especially if it is wet, tends to reflect a lot of light. Similarly beaches and water will create a lot of reflections.
The image below shows how a polarised lens can cut through the glare created by reflected light and enable you to see much more clearly.

Why not visit http://www.ray-ban.com/uk and watch their 360 Polarized Experience. This will enable you to see how effective Polarised Lenses are.
If the sunglasses you want don't specify Polarised lens on our website, just give us a buzz, as we can probably get that style in for you with a polarised lens. Remember, protect your eyes, the Sun can be very dangerous.
Finally, just to let you know I have 2 promotion codes running at the moment.
One gives you 5% off everything - Code Twi14mhr
and the other gives you 20% off the Givenchy Sunglasses - Code Giv14twifb. This is for our Twitter and Facebook followers, so why not follow us on either or both.
For now I must bid you farewell, but I will be back blogging really soon xx
